Konnect is a new IP-based video distribution system that

has been introduced by Pixelmetrix at this IBC. Said to be ideal for corporate, government, military and campus applications and capable of up to full HD resolution, Konnect enables

administrators to route any video to any screen in the facility via what Pixelmetrix describes as a straightforward drag-and-drop HTML5 GUI. Central administrators also have a choice to allow or disallow

local control of each screen. According to the company, the fact that Konnect is fully IP- based effectively eliminates the expense, hassle and inflexibility of traditional patch-panel based distribution systems. 1.B29

Mexican cable operator Cablemás is further expanding its VoD platform with Conax Xtend Multiscreen. Conax Xtend Multiscreen solution offers not only VoD solutions, says the company, but also advanced services such as Catch up, Live TV, nPVR and multiscreen. Integrating the VOD part of the Conax Xtend Multiscreen solution will provide Cablemás with flexibility to add more local content to its platform, according to Conax, and add a rich library to its hospitality and residential markets. The platform’s Hybrid STBs are being provided by Evolution Digital. 1.D69
