CASE STUDY
Six head Merlin Pro the ‘right solution’
It’s two years since GS UK launched their range of Merlin Pro embroidery
machines. Since they were shown at Printwear & Promotion LIVE 2011 the sales of both the single and multi-head embroidery machines have continued to expand throughout the whole of the UK and Ireland.
O
ne company who made the decision to invest in the Merlin range was Dresscode Solutions in
Alness, Ross-Shire. They are a family run business specialising in schoolwear and corporate clothing and have a reputation for combining high quality products and a fast turnaround, throughout the Scottish Highlands. The business is owned by Mark Kelman
and his hands-on approach has ensured it has steadily grown into a major force in the school clothing market place in Scotland. Dress Code Solutions started their business with a single head embroidery machine but as the business grew, so did the need for a larger machine. Due to the location of the business and the fact it prided itself on fast turnaround times, the requirements for new machinery did not only included a higher capacity machine but also one that included complete back-up. It was for these reasons that Mark contacted GS UK's Scottish sales manager, Keith Mansfield. A meeting was organised to go over the machine options and to find the correct machine for them. Mark and his family decided the British designed Merlin Pro 1206 six head machine was the correct piece of equipment to help the business grow and develop. Mark's decision was based on the forward thinking and innovative way
the Merlin Pro's touch screen operating system works on the machine. This feature along with the fact that the Merlins are designed in Britain by GS UKs sister company CadCam Technology Ltd and are hand finished in Nottingham by GS UK's engineers made the choice of which machinery to invest in, an obvious one. In April 2012, the machine was installed
and GS's engineers spent additional days ensuring that Mark and his family were happy and fully trained in all aspects of the machine and user interface. They also have the additional security
of knowing that GS UK have a Scottish based engineer, James McGuire, who they can always call on for instant assistance. Since taking delivery of the machine the company has been implementing a shift work pattern. The business has continued to expand even in these difficult times and the company have now placed an order for another Merlin Pro 1206. The reliability and high quality results
the Merlin Pro produces, coupled with the excellent back up provided by GS UK's large team of engineers is the reason why the popularity of the Merlin
range increases daily. n For more information contact Mark Kelman at Dress Code Solutions, email
