Pewter Period Pieces


Metalcasters and history buffs alike can appreciate the pewter products


produced at ASL Pewter in Louisiana, Mo. Proprietors Tom and Patricia Hooper make a wide range of decorative pieces, dishware, candlesticks


and accessories, many of which are historic reproductions. Tey’ve provid- ed beakers for the U.S. Supreme Court, tankards for a stage production of Walt Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and pewter pieces for HBO’s John Adams miniseries. For those wanting a piece of real history, the Hoop- ers also cast candlesticks, spoons and mugs in antique molds. Te pewter spoons above were cast in molds circa 1650.
