expert standards, they did so within a very tight timeframe. As we’re talking big, busy names within the industry, this was asking a lot; but they stepped up to the mark with aplomb. Unfortunately, due to an error in the
publishing process, some of our esteemed experts were missed off the list! We offer sincere apologies and thanks to the gentlemen below – the awards couldn’t have happened without them.

www.opp-connect.com FINALLY, THE JUDGES...
Our huge thanks are due to our panel of judges who, unpaid, between them studied, assessed and voted upon the thousands of pages of materials submitted by those entering the awards. In addition to awarding a score to each entry, in most cases they took the time to give us their comments on the strengths and weakness of the individual entries. Without the judges the awards simply could not take place. They are all highly experienced industry professionals who not only did the work needed but did it
to a very tight timetable. Thank you. Needless to say, no judge was involved in judging any category they entered.

The OPP Awards for Excellence and the accompanying Gala Dinner were a big success – and they couldn’t have happened without a group of men and women who took time out of their (very) busy schedules to judge the many entrants we received. So we’re very sorry we missed some of you out in our supplement!

Watch this space! We’re now making the final preparations for the OPP Awards for Excellence 2013. These will be announced in the February edition of OPP. The most important changes from
the Awards in 2012 will be that the fi rst entry for any company will be free of charge. If a company wishes to enter for an award in more than one category there will be an entry fee to pay for the other categories. We’re making this change because

we want the awards to be even more credible than they are today and feel that dropping the entry charge will encourage many more people to enter. To refl ect the changing nature of
our market there will also be three or four new categories of award. These will include an award for the Best New Estate Agency (an agency that has been in business for less than two years and which is not simply a reincarnation of an old agency). The increased number of
applicants that we expect as a result

of these changes will mean that we need to make certain changes to the administrative arrangements for the awards. These will be explained next month in OPP and in the awards prospectus, which will be available for download from www.opp-connect. com in late February. We believe – as do the many
companies who have entered our awards year after year – that winning an OPP Award for Excellence not only gives you well-deserved recognition as being outstanding in your fi eld

but also offers a great marketing opportunity. “We’re looking forward to seeing even more entrants for an even more vibrant Awards this year,” Andy Grimley, Commercial Director, said. “An OPP award doesn’t just look pretty on your mantelpiece – it’s well known and respected enough to be a real asset to your company. With no entry fee, what’s to lose?” We look forward to receiving your
application for the OPP Awards for Excellence 2013.
