Youth Tour inspires teens Apply now for the trip of a lifetime

K

iwash Electric is looking for two outstanding teens to represent the co-op on the Rural Electric Youth Tour on June 14 -20, 2013.

The all-expenses paid tour of Washington D.C. includes visits to famous historic sites, museums, memorials, cathedrals and cultural attractions in and around Washington D.C. Youth Tour teens learn about government, rural electrification, leadership and democracy while meeting other delegates from across the country.

Interested teens will be selected based on quiz scores and a brief personal interview. The quiz will test the applicant's knowledge of electric cooperatives. The four top-scoring finalists are invited to a special banquet where they will be interviewed by Youth Tour judges. Two winners will be announced at the conclusion of the banquet.

Youth Tour applications and resource material will be delivered to local high schools this month. For more details on Youth Tour, please visit www.youthtour.coop, or contact Lisa Willard at 888-832-3362. You can also follow us on Facebook!

Place the chicken mixture in bottom pie crust. Pour hot liquid mixture over. Cover with top crust, seal edges, and cut away excess dough. Make several small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Place cookies 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until cookies are golden at the edges. Cool on wire racks. Yield: Makes one 9-inch pie.
