The IBC Leaders’ Summit exclusively caters for the needs of the most influential and visionary people in the electronic media and entertainment industry. In a series of sessions, underpinned by proprietary independent research commissioned by IBC, the day-long summit investigated how connected TV is shifting value, changing business models and creating new opportunities.

Paul Lee, global director, Deloitte Research, Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) explains: “What makes the IBC Leaders’ Summit so distinctive is the superlative content and the networking from world class speakers making some of the biggest decisions in the sector. “The big question about connected TV is does it change the way people watch TV and as a result change the underlying business model. Time and time again in our conversations with CEOs it’s apparent that the one brief they need is a good under- standing of is connected TV. Our aim with the IBC Leaders’ Summit is to provide just that solid understanding.” Delegates heard forensic analysis of the rate at which connected TV’s are penetrating homes, learnt of the impact of buying and viewing behaviour affected by connected devices, and understood critical technical impediments to the connected world.

A snapshot of thought leadership is presented here in answer to the question: ‘What opportunities and challenges do connected devices present to business leaders in electronic media and entertainment?’
