perfectly executed. Calvin Harris and Dutch house guru Tiesto were involved in the event at the Arena Stožice in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Robe was heavily involved in the rig, with a count of over 75 units including ROBIN 600 LEDWashes, ColorSpot 1200E ATs, ColorSpot 700E ATs and ColorSpot 575E ATs.

and Sabina for many years, and on this occasion chose a MAC Aura lighting rig supplied by MFO S.L. Productions for use on the tour. Gallardo decided to use 34 MAC Aura LED wash lights from Martin Professional on the tour, a fixture he says he chose for its power and brightness, as well as cost and energy savings. “The decision was difficult as the stage is quite big, but after the first test with the Aura there was no doubt it was the product for this tour,” Gallardo explains. “The colour projection and the effective control of the fixture, the amazing power, the speed with high precision - after the first performance, everyone loved the Aura.” The Aura’s work on the rig in combination with 1200w spot moving heads and the weight of the product proved to be a huge benefit for rigging the installation. By using the lightweight Aura rather than a HID-based fixture the rig was lightened by 1,000 kilos. “The crew was also happy as one person can carry up to four fixtures,” Gallardo says. “Normally one fixture has to be carried by two people.” According to the tour’s stage manager, the Aura’s

success is also reflected on the balance sheet as they are apparently saving more than €1,000 a day solely in generator and transport costs.

“It is also important to consider the

green facts in using the Aura,” concludes Gallardo. “Less power consumption means less CO2 in the atmosphere.” The environmental credentials of lighting fixtures are being increasingly scrutinised for projects, and can be the deciding factor in the choice of one fixture over another. Jernej Guštin from lighting rental company Event Lighting, who has been investing in Robe products over the last eight years, believes that this is a strong factor in the success of Robe products in the entertainment sector.

“Robe is always bringing new and inventive products online that truly innovate,” explains Guštin. “We like the new ROBIN series - the fact that it’s more eco-friendly and that we can use less power, smaller fixtures and reduce transport costs yet still have a bigger, better impact onstage”.

the LEDWash 600s were there to ensure that the stage and DJ performance area was perfectly lit and to throw bright, well defined beams around the space. The ColorWash 575s were used to make some more exciting effects such as multi-colour movement effects that poured across the audience, and for general ambient lighting. The event was a huge success for promoters the Black Pony Entertainment Group. Lighting is arguably as important as audio quality at an entertainment event, so getting it right is vital to ensure that visitors have a good time. Reduced energy consumption is a real bonus!
