Building Façade in Korea is Innovatively Illuminated

Sill Provides Lighting for Olympic Training Pool

Basildon Sporting Village has received a brand new lighting scheme provided by Sill Lighting. The £38 million project was the home of the London 2012 training camp for the Japanese Olympic and Paralympic swimming team. The lighting scheme is a combination of two

features – Sill’s 467 twin halide lamp projectors and Pracht Apollo ‘O’ ring sealed high efficiency linear fluorescent luminaires, which are closely integrated using a trunking system. The scheme uses a total of 36 of Sill’s 467, and 15 453 plane projectors using 400w and 150w ceramic metal halide lamps respectively to ensure excellent colour rendering. Sill’s products were chosen because they are precision made, with a high IP rating and the design also blends nicely with the surroundings in the pool. Both projectors are equipped with asymmetric reflectors for excellent uniformity, and the bodies of the luminaires are anti-chlorine coated.

Korea’ s premier language institute, the YBM GangNam Center in Soeul City, has had a recent renovation including the introduction of a unique media installation that covers two sides of the building. The installation is one of the award-winning projects by B2 Lighting Management, who have been honoured with the grand prize issued by IPD (International Public Design Exchange Foundation) and Seoul metropolitan government. Traxon’s Mesh RGB was able to realise this media experience without obstructing the landmark building. Luminance of 25cd/m² also ensures compliance with the anti-light pollution law. Traxon’s system offers the flexibility for clients to simply update media content if they want to create new show for future applications.
