It’s fun and fellowship. It’s privilege and responsibility. It’s entertainment and prizes. It’s our 72nd Annual Meeting of Members and it’s scheduled for Saturday, August 18. The meeting will be held in the Sayre Mu- nicipal Park, located one mile south of town. Should there be bad weather, we will hold the meeting at the Sayre School Auditorium. Registration begins at 9 a.m. All members registering their attendance will receive a NFEC ball cap and a bread knife as registra- tion gifts.

At 10 a.m. we’ll draw the name of the lucky person who will win our grand prize. But we’ll keep that name a secret until the end of the meeting when we announce the identity of the winner.

Entertainment this year is Roy Lee Scott, the Flying Cowboy, who performs at 9:30.  meeting in 2011, and was such a hit with the members we have invited him back this year. At 10 a.m., the business portion of the meeting opens, and will be called to order by Jimmy Taylor, president of your board of trustees.

Elections for trustee positions in districts 6 and 7 will be held during the business ses- sion also.

Chris Meyers, CEO of the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives is the featured speaker this year. Toward the end of the business session, we will draw for several prizes and award $50 to the oldest member present.

At noon, everyone will enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch provided by Dyer’s, who is an annual meeting favorite.

For our younger set, we have made ar- rangements for them to spend the morning cooling off in the pool at the park or playing miniature golf, both free of charge. “Annual meeting is a highlight of our

year,” says Scott Copeland, NFEC general manager. “Our employees spend months plan- ning a meeting that allows our members to ex- ercise their ownership of the cooperative, and have an enjoyable morning, also.”
