Arts & Culture T
here comes a certain point in life where you ask ‘Where do I stand and how did I get here?’ Indeed, in the modern world, we are all
searching to define what really makes us who we are. But for most of us, taking time to think about our finest moments, and even more so, share these moments with loved ones, is an almost impossible task. Even those who set out to write their own biography find it is a great shame that so many extraordinary moments in life are lost in the corners of one’s subconscious. For this reason, Swiss based production
company, Lifeline Documentaries, have set out to give the most extraordinary bespoke service which immortalises their client’s lives in movies – Hollywood style. Benefiting from their Alpine location, as it
ensures their commitment to discretion, safety and quality of imagery, the company epitomises the philosophy that unique lives should be told in a unique way. One half of the company’s founders, Urs Kuhn states, “Lifeline Documentaries arise from combining
the two trends - biographies for everyone and the redefinition of luxury - and thereby we are launching a worldwide unique service: the first high-end film documentation service for private individuals. Consequently we have launched a new Era of biographies. “After a couple of meetings with potential
clients it was obvious that we are catching the nerve of our time with our service. People with extraordinary lives also want to capture it in a unique way. Up until now there simply wasn’t an appropriate service on offer to do this. But we are changing this.” Primarily, they provide a service which
complies with the client’s wishes. However, there are modules and film- packages that are particularly recommended, such as regular interviews with selected interview partners and a review of the past year. Tese ideas are merely to generate a structured format, however Kuhn insists, “Tere are no guidelines when it comes to style and tonality. Our international network of film professionals enables us to fulfil any wish.” Indeed, an experienced and discreet film
crew captures the client’s magic moments as they happen throughout the year. To meet the client’s desires, the screenwriters develop a script for the forthcoming film alongside a carefully adjusted shooting schedule with pre-defined days of shooting to ensure consistent and sensitive coverage of the client’s life. To complete the picture, gripping storytelling and periodical interviews narrate. Each film is as individual as its subject protagonist and a certain amount of shooting time is required, which can be extended at the clients wishes. To capture the perfect day, packages for single events also exist and the price – on application.

Although each project is, in premise, an
experience made entirely for the client alone, Kuhn claims the reactions are always well received by all. “Te clients and their family and friends are
In terms of what motivates people into taking
part in such a unique experience, Kuhn says, “Generally, our clients want to have every
moment that is important to them documented in a special and unique way. Of course, family and friends are of utmost importance to our clients but also milestones in their businesses, travels and hobbies are recurring motives. “What I personally find very interesting are
regular interviews. Here, the personal thoughts are at the centre of attention, one’s own values and wishes. Tat is a wonderful medium to ensure the documentation of one’s personal history, to follow one’s development and to be able to pass on one’s values to the next generation.” “Tere are people who want a role in a film for
their private movie theatre. Others want a film for an iPhone or Facebook or even request that the full documentary is only handed down to the next generation after their passing.”
quite often speechless and very touched. Te quality and emotionality of our documentaries can only be compared with that of feature cinema films or today’s best documentaries. For many clients this is an exceptional experience. Very often we hear statements such as ‘It’s too bad your service has only been launched so recently, there would have been so many more moments to capture.’ Of course, a statement like this is the sincerest form of flattery we can receive.” Kuhn and founding partner, Mathias Ruch,
formed the company in 2011, and have already gained a high level of interest from high-net- worth-individuals the world over. However, to guarantee the very finest quality and exclusivity of their films, the numbers of customers per annum is limited. Essentially, one can become a client of Lifeline Documentaries upon invitation or via a recommendation, however, interested parties can contact the company through their website,
