Another great year was had by all at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, as the world’s leading tennis stars took centre court by storm. Although legend Roger Federer defeated the hopeful Andy Murray in the men’s final, British hopes look bright for the future as Jonathan Marray lifted the doubles title. American, Serena Williams rose to take the women’s title for the 5th time. Te event closed with an emotional speech by Andy Murray as he thanked all his supporters in a moment which touched the hearts of the nation.

BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend
Rock and pop royalty flocked to Hackney Marshes for BBC Radio 1’s biggest open air concert ever. Over 100,000 people attended the two day extravaganza as the stage was graced by the world’s most celebrated musical talents. Headline acts included Jay-Z, Rihanna, Jack White, Plan B, Florence + the Machine and Jessie J to name but a few.
