The stance should have your feet close together with the ball in the back of the stance and your weight leaning toward your target. For a shot that you will only hit a couple of yards, you do not need a wide and stable base like you would for a full swing. By drawing your feet closer together your mindset is automatically geared to use a swing that is shorter and more precise. Your feet should point left of your target with the club face pointing down your intended line. Again, you do not need your lower body at all for this shot. By opening up your stance you take the urge to transfer your weight away, leaving your arms and shoulders to do the work.

There are a couple different schools of thought on leaving the fl agstick in the hole. When people take the fl agstick out it is because they are trying to
make it. When the fl agstick is in the hole it can interfere with the ball going in. When farther away the fl agstick is typically left in so the target is easily seen. There is no right or wrong answer; it is completely up to you.
