While the sporting endeavours never ceased to exhilarate, and the venues and settings of the events did our country proud, it was the 70,000 Games Makers who made this Games so special. So if you were one of them, this editorial is dedicated to you. Thank you for making the Games everything they could be.

Tor Davies, publisher and founder tor@sportex.net Welcome

OCT 2012

Wow! Could we have hoped for a better Olympic and Paralympic Games? Could it actually have got any better? It

was brilliantly organised, brilliantly co-ordinated and brilliantly pulled off from start to finish! I was lucky enough to attend the closing ceremony and despite the fact that 70,000 plus people exited that stadium together, I waited less time for a tube than I do when travelling around London the rest of the year!

From a physical therapy point of view, a special mention has to go to Lynn Booth, the clinical lead for physical therapies on the London Organising Committee, and her team. For the very first time at the Olympics the physical therapies stream brought together not only physiotherapists but osteopaths, chiropractors and dedicated sports massage practitioners all under a 470-strong physical therapy volunteer team.
