The launch of Atlantis, The Palm in September 2008 saw the opening of the first outpost of Nobu in the Middle East, which has since redefined the local culinary scene with the introduction of world-renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature Japanese dishes. Nobu at Atlantis has been delighting palettes with signature favorites — a fusion of traditional Japanese with South American flavors. And now, the Nobu kitchen doors are open to guests affording a select few the opportunity to refine their culinary skills with the masters.
Led by Chef de Cuisine Chef Hervé Courtot, foodies and amateurs alike are welcome to experience firsthand the art of Japanese cuisine in a bespoke three-hour cooking class. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a glass of freshly prepared juice and introduced to the Nobu concept.
They are then guided to the sushi bar, where the session begins with a discovery of the exquisite and time-honored art of sushi making. Following a brief introduction to the history of sushi and sashimi, guests enjoy the opportunity to try sushi preparation under the

watchful guidance of the Nobu chefs. Following the hands-on experience of the sushi creations, guests enjoy a demonstration of the making of tempura with key ingredients, including shrimp, asparagus and mushrooms.
No meal being complete without a decadent dessert, the lesson concludes with a demonstration of Nobu’s popular signature cheesecake made from baked cream cheeses and sour cream with vanilla bourbon from Madagascar, served with passion fruit and a pineapple sorbet. After a hard day’s work in the kitchen, guests relax and enjoy a private Nobu three-course lunch, showcasing the dishes featured in the class and a glass of champagne.
