WARM-UP THIS IS OPEN WATER SWIMMING

Swimmers prepare for the 8km Portmagee to Knightstown Valentia Swim on 16 July 2011

Human Race’s Hampton Court to Kingston race on 17 July: Opting to go without a wetsuit didn’t seem to hold up Spenser Goodman, a junior swimmer from London Polytechnic Swim and Water Polo Club, who

won the elite wave, completing the 2.25mi river swim in 45:06. However, he was beaten to the overall top spot by Mark Billyard of Romford Town Swim Club, who finished in 44:52, swimming in the second wave. Meanwhile, top female swimmer, Danni Pryor beat all but six of the men with a time of 45:22. More than 1,300 swimmers took part in the scenic swim along this historic stretch of the Thames.
