System peaks determine what CEC, and eventually every member, pays for wholesale power purchased from Western Farmers Electric Cooperative. You can help CEC lower its peak by reducing your energy use between 2 pm and 8 pm every day this month.

By following at least one of the following suggestions, you’ll help CEC control future power costs. You’ll also save money on your monthly electric bill!

◆ Use appliances like clothes washers and dryers, dishwashers and other electric devices sparingly during peak times, 2 pm to 8 pm.

◆ Delay using hot water so that the demand for your water heater is less during the peak times.

◆ Set the thermostat on your air conditioning equipment or heat pump up 3 degrees during the peak time . Be sure to use your ceiling fans and close your drapes to help the air conditioner even more.
