OPP EXECUTIVE PANEL COMMENT Insight | 7

The Panel I

t is time to start preparing your entry for the OPP Awards for Excellence 2011. There

are only a few weeks left to go now … so don’t leave it until the last minute to put your submission together. We have expanded and revamped our range of categories this year and there should be something for everyone in our line- up of awards. So ... what has changed in the scheme for this year? New categories for 2011 include Best Financial Services Provider … open to banks, funds, mortgage companies and foreign exchange specialists; Best Developer Service provider … open to any kind of operation that works with developers; and Best Overseas Property Business … open to anyone who works in any part of our industry. More than 40 industry leaders from all around the world have already agreed to join our international judging panel and they are looking forward to reading your submissions. OPP is already the world’s leading forum for property professionals and the OPP Awards are a prestigious accolade in the market. The scheme aims to cover all aspects of the value chain in overseas property and it is clearly focused on rewarding and recognising excellence in our industry. If you think that you have got what

it takes to be one of the best in the overseas property industry, we want to hear from you - NOW. As with last year, OPP will also

be seeking to award Gold and Silver medals in categories that justify wider recognition, especially where there has been a large number of entries of a very high quality and where the judges think it appropriate to reward and recognise additional winners. If you would like to get involved

please go to www.opp.org.uk ... and click on the OPP Awards banner at the top of the home page. This will take you straight to our guidelines pack. There are links in the

Here is one of last year’s winners, Chris Graham, director of Graham Associates, speaking immediately after the awards ceremony: “I know that the competition from around the world to win an OPP award is very strong, so it is extremely gratifying to have won this prestigious award ... especially as the entries are all reviewed and assessed by respected practitioners and experienced peers from within the overseas property industry.” For Robbert Hofman, chief executive of our Best Estate Agent of 2010, Brazil- based uv10, the real pleasure was in beating his peers. “Considering that we had to compete

against entries from estate agents across the globe, the Gold Medal Award for uv10 is quite an achievement,” he says. “OPP’s judging panel is full of
