PEOPLE NICK UNDERHILL has been appointed as
Head of International Residential Development at agency Chesterton Humberts. His brief, the company has told OPP, is to expand the company’s “residential development department and also expand the brand on an international basis, particularly throughout Asia.”
Underhill has 35 years experience as a consultant to estate agents and developers and he has worked with a wide range of residential developers including Berkeley Homes, Barratt Homes, Laings, David Pearl and Pamlion. He was one of the fi rst European agents to
begin taking developer stock to Asia Pacifi c in the early 1980s. During Underhill’s career, he has been a senior member of Hamptons International in the UK at its St James and Sloane Square offi ces and he also set up City and Mayfair Properties and Stirling Ackroyd Investment & Development of Clerkenwell & Mayfair.
JP Morgan has strengthened its European Real Estate asset management team by appointing Joe Valente as Head of Research and Strategy. His main focus will be on continuing to build J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s real estate capabilities in Europe by forecasting local economic and property performance, identifying strategic investment opportunities and working to achieve real estate investment objectives for institutional and high net worth investors.
Resi expert moves into ReMax RE/MAX Classic has appointed Thelma Cary- Rossbach as sales associate. Cary-Rossbach specializes in residential property sales in Michigan’s Milford, Highland, Commerce, and White Lake areas. “We are thrilled to have Thelma join our team,” said Broker/Owner Carol Boji. “It’s rare to find talent like Thelma’s. Sten takes over at GE Capital Europe Lennart Sten has been named president of GE Capital Real Estate Europe. Based in Paris, Sten will report directly to the group’s CEO. Sten has been with the company for 13 years, and since 2005 has been serving as the head of northern business units, responsible for a portfolio of more than 2,000 assets representing a total portfolio of more than €10 billion and serving some 7,500 tenants. President and CEO Mark Begor said: “Lennart has built strong business teams and brings significant market knowledge to this role - at a time when our business is moving forward in Europe as a leading property company,”

COLLIERS INTERNATIONAL has appointed Andrew McFarlane as the new head of its Manchester offi ce. He has already assumed the role, which he will undertake alongside his existing responsibilities as the managing director of Colliers’ co-investment operation, Deanwater Estates.
The chief executive of Colliers International said: “After considering our requirement for a new Manchester head, we decided that all of the leadership skills and business knowledge required was already within the company in Andrew. “Andrew is incredibly experienced. He’s been
a senior director in our Manchester office since we acquired Gooch Webster in 2003, and has over 25 years industry experience with Hillier Parker and Threadneedle, so I’m confident we’ll be in very safe hands.”
McFarlane added: “I am pleased to be responsible for the leadership of the Colliers International business in Manchester. We have a strong team in Manchester, and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues here to strengthen the business and augment our offer in the north west region.”

International group, the company has been expanding its team with the appointment of Stephanie Patterson, formerly of Savills Dublin, as an International Sales Consultant.
Patterson spent more than eight years at Savills Dublin, specialising in the overseas residential markets. She speaks Spanish and French. Andrew Hawkins, head of international sales, said: “It has been a positive start to the year with many developers returning to the market more aggressively. Interest levels are up considerably when compared with this time last year.”
Adding value
Estate agent Innes England has appointed Laura Kwiecinski to its professional department. She joins from Shepherds Chartered Surveyors where she gained experience in residential valuation to add to her MA in property and building surveying and degree in sociology from the University of Nottingham. Kwiecinski said: “I’m very excited to join the professional department at Innes England. This will enable me to gain further valuation experience and become involved with landlord and tenant work.
“I enrolled on the Property Practice APC
pathway in March 2009 after realising that this area of practice really interested me. This new opportunity will provide me with the breadth of training necessary to complete the APC and achieve the RICS qualification and chartered status.”
