tive back court in the NBA last year so hopefully we can keep that going with the additions we made to the roster. •••

What has surprised you most about life in the NBA? Probably the fatigue and how tough the travel is in the NBA. At first I was excited to go to all the different cities I’d never been to. But after a while you’re always on the plane or at the hotel preparing for a game so you re- ally need to be focused mental- ly to get through that and make sure you’re not drained. •••

What accomplishment are you most proud of? Winning that gold medal with the world championship and being part of that team. If you look at the number of people who have a world championship medal from the U.S., the names are pretty slim. To be part of that fraternity of guys is a good accomplishment. I took a month off after the season ended to let my body rest; from the middle of April to the middle of May I did pretty much noth- ing but play golf. Then when May hits you’ve got to get back into it so from May to Septem- ber you’re working about five

Do you feel settled in California? I do, I’ve started calling this home. I don’t know everything around me but for the most part when my family comes in I can show them around and take them to the good spots in the city and act like I know something.

What is one word to describe yourself? Humble.
