The Exhibitions, Art & Library Collections Department not only alters Gardens spaces through temporary exhibit installations but also transforms minds through varied programs and resources. In 2009, select gardens became habitats for a variety of dinosaurs during the “Jurassic Gardens: Evolution & Extinction” exhibition. As a complement to this multifaceted effort, an audio tour addressed plant/animal relationships in habitats and adaptive change. In addition to the multitude of horticultural and gardening resources presented in its collections, the Helen Fowler Library acquired titles in paleobotany and plant adaptation. Exhibitions within the Gates Garden Court Gallery continued this line of investigation. All who visited were able to not only better understand our prehistoric plant past but also how changes in our own time affect plants, animals and people.
