beautiful to live in – John Ruskin

Ruskin was five at the time and his first view from the Crag observations
clearly made a lasting impression. Years later he was to describe Ruskin made in
the event as ‘the creation of the world for me,’ and observed the mid years of
that the vista from the Crag was one of the three or four finest the 19th Century
in Europe. are as true today
