SERGIO PERKOVIC
Moonlighting with Notre Dame’s Motor City Hit Man
Who is your favorite athlete? The Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant. He’s never afraid of taking big shots.
What’s one thing you can’t live without? Chocolate. It is the best snack in the world.
What’s on your bucket list?
I want to take a trip to the moon. Hopefully, a commercial fl ight to the moon will become a possibility in my lifetime.
What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve overcome? Playing lacrosse in Michigan. It was tough to get a lot of recognition from big college lacrosse programs, but I am thankful Notre Dame gave me a chance to play Division I lacrosse at a high level.
What’s the most
adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
Conquering “The Incline” in Colorado Springs with my
teammates in the fall of my freshman year.
What has been your favorite class? Ethics of emerging weapons technology.
What was your favorite game you played in? Albany in the 2015 NCAA quarterfi nals because everyone seemed to be rooting against us, and it felt amazing to beat them in the fashion that we did. [Matt Kavanagh scored the game-winner.] Thank goodness for my man Kavanaughty!
OVERTIME FROM TEAM USA AND DUKE COACH JOHN DANOWSKI Who is your favorite teacher or coach, and why?
My high school football coach at Brother Rice, Al Fracassa, is the most inspiring, motivational person that I have ever met.

JOHN.ARUNDEL Who would win in a one-on-one matchup — you or Matt Landis? Matt is an awesome defender and would probably win a one-on-one from the X behind the goal. But I think I would win dodging from above the cage. We’ll have to see in the next couple years if we meet on opposing teams!
Pose a question for our next subject: If you could be any animal, what would it be and why? 64 US LACROSSE MAGAZINE

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Gjergj Kastrioti (Skanderbeg). He is the national hero of Albania and lived in the 1400s. It’d be interesting to get a perspective on life back in that time period from a legendary war hero. [Perkovic is of Albanian descent.]
