Virginia Mount, a national singles, pairs and ice dance judge and referee for 46 years, received the 15th annual Jimmy Disbrow Award at the U.S. Champion- ships in Kansas City, Missouri. The award, established in 2003, is presented to a member of the fi gure skating community who demonstrates an outstanding and passionate spirit of commitment and vol- unteerism, just as the late Jimmy Disbrow did throughout his life. As a member of the Denver Figure Skating Club, Mount served on its board and was a founding member of the Mile High Figure Skating Club. She also served on the board of di- rectors of U.S. Figure Skating. Throughout the years, Mount has acted as a mentor to countless skaters, judges and referees, serving as a selfl ess source of wisdom, guidance and encouragement. Gale Tanger presented the award.
