SOCIAL MEDIA TRI BOURNE

TRI BOURNE MAY LOVE WATER SPORTS IN THEIR PUREST FORMS as many Hawaii locals do, but he is not without his tech fi x. The former All- American from Southern California stays connected with the waves with “The Journey,” which he considers his favorite App. Bourne, 27, has been the most successful American men’s beach player under the age of 30 the last several seasons. He fi nished third in the chase to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio with veteran partner John Hyden. The pair will open the 2017 season together at the FIVB World Beach Tour opener at the Ft. Lauderdale Major in Florida, Feb. 7-12.

The Journey — It’s a surfi ng game app. I love playing this game on the road. It doesn’t require wifi to play so I can play on long plane rides. The goal is to unlock every surf spot in the world. I’m still trying to unlock Hawaii!

ESPN — I have the ESPN app set up to give me updates on all my favorite teams and sports. Plus, you get to see highlight videos of all the top plays that we miss when we’re traveling.

Instagram — Instagram is my favorite social media app. I personally prefer to post a pic or see a pic versus writing or reading a tweet.

Pandora — I like to listen to a good variety of music, so I love to do a customized shuffl e on the Pandora app.

GoPro — There’s nothing like getting some sweet footage out in the ocean and being able to watch it on your iPhone right when you get back to the beach. I always take about 100 photos and end up only getting one or two that are Insta worthy. Worth it!
