AFS Launches Website, Magazine for Student Outreach AFS has launched a new website and magazine
focused on providing resources to teachers, students, guidance counselors and parents seeking more informa- tion on metalcasting. Deemed “Melting Point,” the magazine and website

meltingpoint.afsinc.org) is one of the fi rst endeavors devel- oped from the ground up solely for the purpose of reaching the youth of North America in order to inform, encourage and excite students to consider a career in metalcasting. T e magazine contains articles showcasing people in metalcast- ing, the variety of applications for cast metal components and scholarship information, and a listing of suggested col- leges with metalcasting curriculum. T e Melting Point website contains a digital version of the magazine, plus industry demographic information, col- lege and career information, multimedia tools that give an overview of the industry, and a directory of North American metalcasting facilities. T e website also provides resources and suggestions for those in the industry who are involved in reaching out to the next generation of metalcasters. “T is website and magazine are exciting youth connec-
tion tools that cover all educational levels and the great spec- trum of opportunities that are in the metalcasting industry,” said Jerry Call, AFS CEO.
