Bronze Statue Makes Splash on Wall Street

The “Fearless Girl” is a 4-ft. cast bronze statue.

Te “Fearless Girl” has taken New York by storm. She’s incredibly popular and somewhat controver- sial, and she’s also a 4-ft. cast bronze statue.

“Fearless Girl” was cast by Kristen Visbal and produced by the New Arts Foundry in Balti- more, using the lost-wax technique. Te project was funded by State Street Global Advisors, an advocacy group for gender diverse companies, and the statue itself was placed on the famed Wall Street in March.

“Fearless Girl” was placed opposite the Wall Street bull and expected to be a temporary

installation but her popularity has led some to push for her to stay permanently. In March, the city of New York allowed the piece to stay for another year.

“We were focusing on making a statement about the future of Wall Street,” Visbal told CNN. “We wanted this wonderful contrast. “I think the fact that she’s a child makes the figure much more endearing.”
