Voss was a journey- man patternmaker, an AFS member, and the general manager at Midfield Pattern Corporation (Walcott, Iowa) for the last eight years. He was instrumental in es- tablishing Midfield’s Department of Labor-certified Patternmaker’s Apprenticeship program, and oversaw the successful completion of his first apprentice.
