Simulation Software Finite Solutions demonstrated
the new capabilities of version 8.4.0 of SOLIDCast, FLOWCast and OPTICast. T ese features included the Project Results Viewer, with a new graphics display and enhanced movie making functions. Live demonstra- tions showed how SOLIDCast takes the results of an un-rigged simulation, and uses them to assist in the design of an eff ective gating and risering system. T e fully rigged model is then verifi ed using both Fluid Flow and Solidifi ca- tion analysis, and optimized to im- prove process yield while guaranteeing
product quality.— Finite Solutions. Impregnating Coating Huettenes Albertus (HA) empha-
sized its new impregnation coating to defend against the white fi lm casting defect that can occur on the surfaces of thick-walled ductile iron castings. T e coating was developed by closely analyzing the cause of the emergence of the fi lm and carrying out indi- vidual process steps to overcome the defect. T e company also presented a lecture on this coating at the WFO technical forum held during the trade fair.— Huettenes Albertus, represented
