CLAUDIA CHRONICLES Claudia Munoz, U.S. Junior Girls Champion is one of the most active chess players on social media, and is now blogging more regularly for U.S. Chess. Claudia will report on playing the Under-20 Panamerican Junior in El Salvador from July 15-22. Also check the June archives for her report on encouraging even younger girls in chess in a tournament named after her in El Paso, Texas.

CHRIS WAINSCOTT (Cover Story) grew up in Midland, Texas where he learned to play chess at the age of four at the end of the Fischer boom. In addition to chess his hobbies include reading, listening to music, playing the guitar, and fishing. He writes a daily blog at www.chessiq.com/blog/.


JORGE BARRERA (Spring Scholastics) has been a chess teacher as part of after-school programs for over 10 years both in California and in Chicago. Coming from a family of photog- raphers, he has also used photography as a creative outlet for many years.


GM ALEX ONISCHUK (World Team) is the fifth-ranked U.S. grandmaster, the 2006 U.S. Champion, and a coach at Texas Tech University.
