WELCOME FROM USA TRIATHLON CEO ROB URBACH Dear Collegiate and High School Triathletes,

On behalf of USA Triathlon, I’d like to welcome you to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the 2017 USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championships and second annual High School National Championships. We truly believe this is one of the most exciting events of the year, thanks in part to the unique school pride and immense triathlon talent you and your teammates bring to the races.

We want to thank you for joining us this year for what is sure to be a thrilling weekend of racing and rivalries. Collegiate Club Nationals were last held here in Tuscaloosa in 2011 and 2012, and we’re excited to return to the energetic atmosphere we’ve seen in years past.

We have an action-packed two days ahead, with the Draft-Legal Collegiate Championships, the Olympic-distance championship and the Mixed Team Relay for collegiate athletes. We also have the second running of the High School National Championships, with more than 150 up-and-coming triathletes set to represent their schools on the national stage. The future of triathlon will truly be on display this weekend, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.

The USA Triathlon staff has worked diligently for months to ensure that you have a memorable race experience in Tuscaloosa, and an event of this scale would not be possible without the backing of the Tuscaloosa community.

USA Triathlon would like to thank the many individuals and groups in the Tuscaloosa community that helped to make this event possible: The City of Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa Mayor Walter Maddox, Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports, Lakeshore Athletic Services, Tuscaloosa Fire & Rescue, the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, City of Tuscaloosa PD, Alabama Coast Guard, DHC Sports Medicine and Dr. Jimmy Robinson, Game Time Travel, VeloCity Pro Cycle, US Timing Authority, TDOT and the USA Triathlon Collegiate Committee. In addition, we would like to thank all of our volunteers, as well as the local residents and businesses of Tuscaloosa for their support.

As always, USA Triathlon’s corporate partners and local sponsors are also part of making Collegiate Club and High School Nationals a success for you and for our organization. We are grateful for their support, as their dedication to multisport helps make these events successful from year to year.

Thank you for your commitment to the sport of triathlon and for being here to represent your school in what promises to be an unforgettable weekend. I wish you and your teammates the best for a successful race.

Sincerely, Rob Urbach CEO, USA Triathlon
