Lt. Gen. Edward Hanlon Jr., USMC (Ret), Life Member (joined 2004): During Hanlon’s 39-year military career, he commanded at the battery, company, battalion, and regimental


levels. He also served as commanding general of the Marine Corps Combat Development Command. In addition to serving on MOAA’s board of direc- tors, he is a member of the California Governor’s Military Advisory Council and is on the board of advisors for the San Diego Military Advisory Council.


Col. Paul Hennings, USAF (Ret), Life Member (joined 1981): Hennings is the patriarch of an Air Force family that includes his son, Lt. Col. Joel Hennings, and his grandsons, Air-


man 1st Class Parker Hennings and Senior Airman Joel Hennings Jr. The elder Hennings joined the Air Force in 1950. His service included tours of duty in England, Guam, Japan, Spain, Thailand, and Vietnam. After retiring from the service in 1980, he worked for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.


Makenzie Schulz (joined 2015): Schulz is the operations of- fi cer for Fisher House Foundation, where she serves as the ex- ecutive assistant to the president and board of trustees, assists


veteran and military families with program eligibility, and provides opera- tional support. She also is a member of MOAA’s Currently Serving Spouse Advisory Council. A U.S. Coast Guard spouse, she previously taught at the international school on Joint Force Command NATO Base Naples, Italy.


Capt. Winston Scott, USN (Ret), Life Member (joined 1986): Scott, a former NASA astronaut, was a mission specialist on STS-72 in 1996 and STS-87 in 1997. Before joining NASA, he


served as a naval aviator and offi cer. He currently is the senior vice presi- dent for external relations and economic development of the Florida Insti- tute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. He also has served as a university vice president and engineering college dean and professor. MO
