Col. John D. Abrahamson, USA (Ret), Life Member (joined 1983): As membership chair of the Minnesota Chapter of MOAA, Abrahamson has been the driving force behind a
highly successful direct-mail campaign that has increased chapter mem- bership from 300 to over 1,100 members in the past decade. Under Abrahamson’s leadership, the Minnesota Chapter has been very active in national MOAA’s chapter recruiting program.
Nerissa Custer (joined 2013): After graduating from Oregon State University, Custer joined the U.S. Peace Corps and served in Ghana, West Africa. She returned to the U.S. and completed her
master’s in communication/public relations. She has volunteered with many organizations, including the American Red Cross as a services to armed forces case worker. She is the wife of Lt. Col. Dat Lam, USAF, and serves on MOAA’s Currently Serving Spouse Advisory Council.
CW5 Randy Hansen, USA (Ret), Life Member (joined 1996): Hansen graduated from the Fort Rucker warrant offi cer candidate program in 1973 and served in assignments around the world. He
retired after 24-plus years of service and started volunteering to help veterans. He served on MOAA’s board of directors from 2002-06. On Dec. 3, 2015, Han- sen presented his nephew, WO1 Christopher Hansen, ARNG, a MOAA Life membership upon his graduation from warrant offi cer candidate school.
Maj. Gen. Kay C. McClain, USAF (Ret), Life Member (joined 2012): A career personnel offi cer, McClain served staff tours as well as operational command tours at Air Force group,
wing, and center levels. Her fi nal active duty assignment was commander of the Air Force Personnel Center. In retirement, she is a consultant and active volunteer at local public schools. She serves on the Educational Assistance Committee of MOAA’s board of directors. MO
