Ask a Tauck Director!

We asked Charlie Watson to tell us what it’s like to take a river cruise; read his answers here!

What do kids do on a riverboat cruise?

“They see a ton of great sights while enjoying their floating hotel! On Blue Danube: Family Riverboat Adventure, they visit trick fountains, a garden hedge maze, and a marionette theatre like the ones that entertained kids centuries ago.”

Name 3 things kids like most about exploring Europe on a river cruise?

1. “ Kids like staying on a riverboat because they get a little freedom to wander around safely onboard that they would not have in a hotel.

2. What’s more fun that hanging out with new friends in a new place?

3. They do love the landmark sites and history, but on the Blue Danube, their visit to the Prater amusement park in Vienna always comes in as a favorite because of its cool rides and no lines!”

Call your travel agent or Tauck Bridges at 800-468-2825 Is it easy for the

kids to make friends on a tour?

“Yes. On Blue Danube, we start with a get acquainted bingo game where they learn about each other’s hobbies and interests and win prizes. The next day we break into teams that play medieval games at a 9th-century castle for a little friendly competition.

Mid-trip, we give them the opportunity to sit with their friends at a kid’s table and a teen’s table. Even though dinnertime is also family time, sometimes it’s fun to sit together with just kids.”

?PI\¼[ \PM JM[\ \PQVO about taking a family vacation?

“Along with the great memories, families like that we take out the decision making and keep everyone busy and engaged so there is no wasting time or arguing about where to go.”
