The place to be this month is Celtic Connections, Glasgow which fills the city venues from 14th to 31st January. The Opening Concert celebrates 50 years of the Traditional Music & Song Association of Scotland with musical director Siobhan Miller at the helm, and there’s a wealth of guests throughout the event including The Chieftains, Lau, The Unthanks, Béla Fleck, Moving Hearts, Lucinda Williams, Baaba Maal, Le Grande Anniversaire (Aly Bain at 70 in a show with his longstanding cohort Phil Cunningham, celebrating 30 years of performing together), Admiral Fallow, Toumani Diabaté, Karine Polwart, Boys
