LETTER TO EDITOR

Qatar airways to launch fl ights from Cardiff

Dear Editor,

As an Ambassador for Unicef UK, I’ve seen the work Unicef does to provide life- saving food and care for malnourished children. Around the world, fi ve children die every minute as a result of malnutrition. Millions more children live with the effects for the rest of their lives because their bodies and brains haven’t developed the way they should. It makes me very proud to know that schools across Wales will be taking part in Unicef UK’s Day for Change on May 24th, raising vital funds to help malnourished children and studying the issues in their classrooms. It’s so important that young people learn about how nutrition affects the lives of children around the world and I can’t wait to see all the wonderful ways that schools are getting involved. The money raised really will go a long way to help malnourished children get the food they need to grow up healthy and strong. To fi nd out how your school can get involved, visit unicef.uk/dayforchange

Qatar Airways is to launch a daily fl ight from Cardiff Airport to its hub in Doha, Qatar, in 2018. It will allow business and leisure travellers to fl y directly from their local airport via Doha to a choice of over 150 destinations across the globe in Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East. The new service from Cardiff will be the latest addition to a growing network of destinations that Qatar

Deb Barber, CEO at Cardiff Airport said; “I am immensely proud that Qatar Airways has chosen Cardiff Airport to operate its new service to Doha. It is fantastic that we will now be able to offer our customers more choice of travel

“More than 1 million passengers per year from our region are
