ALL STARS CRICKET HITS WALES

WHAT IS ALL STARS?

Cricket Wales and Glamorgan are delighted to be supporting the ECB’s new All Stars Cricket programme which will be launched in clubs this summer.

All Stars Cricket is a nationwide programme that is designed to inspire five to eight-year-olds to take up cricket and provide a great first experience of the game. It’s set to be the most significant initiative to impact on junior cricket in this generation, effecting hugely the future growth of junior cricket, the recreational game and the professional game.

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE? Putting fun right at the centre of this experience, All Stars Cricket aims to in still children with a lifelong love of our sport, enabling clubs to welcome new players, supporters and potential future volunteers. Clubs will be provided with everything you need to ensure a great first experience for kids and their parents. In turn this will bring huge benefits to your club. Any club who wishes to run the minimum eight-week programme will receive full support from the ECB and the county board in the following ways:

1. All Stars Cricket equipment and resources provided at zero cost to the club

2. Free volunteer training including parent engagement

3. Administration for All Stars Cricket handled centrally by the ECB saving volunteer time at your club

4. Club benefits from a national marketing campaign targeting both existing cricket families and non- cricket families enabling wider recruitment.

5. Support from Cricket Wales to promote All Stars Cricket within your local schools.

6. Free kit bag with specialist equipment to run All Stars Cricket

7. Access to the All Stars Cricket support centre 8. Money can’t buy experiences for participants

Once a club has signed up, children aged between five and eight will be able to book their place at an All Stars Cricket Club from mid-March, so watch this space and get ready to be an “All Star!”

All children who sign up will receive an exclusive All Stars Cricket pack including a bat, a personalised T-shirt and much more!!!

WHAT NEXT? Following presentations to clubs in January and February, over 105 clubs in Wales have already signed up to join the All Stars programme ahead of the new season. We are now looking for excellent volunteers to oversee our All Star Cricket centres, creating a top-class environment for kids and parents alike. Clubs should start their search today for those enthusiastic, vibrant and motivated people who will inspire young children at your club.

Although many All Stars Cricket Activators will have excellent experience of cricket, it is by no means essential – first and foremost, we are looking for people with fantastic personal skills. Start the search within your club network for the perfect Activator.
