NEW

Aermec

Aermec (UK) has launched a new water-cooled chiller that off ers energy effi ciency even at partial loads. The WMG is a compact chiller that is designed for indoor installation. It has high effi ciency two-stage magnetic levitation centrifugal compressors, which allow the refrigerant circuit to be oil free. It also has a very low starting current and uses 50% less refrigerant thanks to its

patented spray technology within the heat exchanger. In addition, the WMG delivers savings on installation and maintenance. Buildings can present a number of challenges when it comes to replacing chillers. The WMG’s modular design and component layout simplifi es installations. The units are fi ve times lighter than screw compressors and they can be transported through doorways and into lifts. The fl exibility of the units enables several modules to be positioned side-by-side, ideal in plant rooms with limited space. The modules also provide fl exibility when a standby unit is required or when cooling duty needs to be increased at a later date. There is no need for critical spares as a standby module can be used as a spare chiller instead.

Each module is capable of 280-324kW depending on the size of compressor used, and is available as a standard unit or as a silenced version with a soundproof cowling. A front mounted colour touchscreen provides an easy user interface with an intuitive graphical menu. The built-in inspection door enables easy access for cleaning and maintenance of the heat exchangers. Ideal for retrofi t and new building projects in residential, commercial and industrial buildings, the WMG’s compact modular design eliminates the need for costly road closures or cranes and eliminates the need for any special building work prior to installation, which reduces the environmental impact and installation costs. Aermec’s philosophy is to minimise its environmental impact which includes using lower GWP refrigerants. The WMG chiller operates with HFO refrigerant R1234ze which has a global warming potential (GWP) of 6. The bearings are magnetic levitation type, vibration free and very quiet, while the oil free compressors further reduce environmental eff ects. The WMG off ers high effi ciency even at partial loads and has an EER rating of 5.4 and an ESEER rating of 8.4 - one of the highest in the market. The use of inverter technology in the compressor provides greater energy effi ciencies, running costs, more accurate temperature control and improves the EER. The WMG’s performance is Eurovent certifi ed.

Daikin

Daikin has launched a new highly advanced Centrifugal Oil Free water- cooled inverter chiller series with R134a and R1234ze(E) refrigerants. Off ering increased capacities and expanded applications possibilities, the new chillers are the latest in an array of innovative products developed by Daikin to help specifi ers and end users stay one step ahead of EU legislation and rising energy costs.

The extremely compact DZ chiller series incorporates advanced technology features that are unique in the market. Presenting up to 32% reduction in footprint if compared to the previous series, the new chiller provides a low noise solution with dedicated compressor sound proof cabinet to ensure outstanding fl exibility to match any application. The series is available in a wide range of capacities off ering the widest possible choice in use. All models are fi tted with a single refrigerant circuit. The R134a range (EWWD-DZ) off ers a choice of cooling capacity from 320kW up to 1,478kW at nominal conditions, with single compressor models providing an output up to 742kW and dual compressor models between 610kW to 1,478kW. The R-1234ze(E) range (EWWH-DZ) is available in cooling capacities from 230kW up to 952kW at nominal conditions, including single compressor models up to 478kW and dual compressor models between 430kW to 952kW. www.daikin.co.uk

FläktGroup

With advanced airfl ow analysis based on ultrasound technology, FläktGroup has launched the unique Optivent Ultra. The product off ers customers simplifi ed commissioning and installation, lowered life cycle costs and unprecedented levels of comfort. FläktGroup’s Optivent is the latest addition to its line of VAV Dampers that have now been optimised with cutting-edge innovation. With the ultrasound technology, consultants, builders, property owners and construction companies can entirely avoid traditional risks and disadvantages in VAV systems. For instance, this unique solution is low noise, resilient to dust and is entirely maintenance-free as the construction and materials are not subject to wear and tear. Optivent Ultra requires no safety distances to bends and T-pieces, as ultrasound measures the entire air fl ow, which makes it resilient to turbulence.

Timo Kaasalainen, global product manager at FläktGroup, said: “The measuring precision of our ultrasound technology means that exactly the correct amount of air is supplied at any given moment.” www.fl aktgroup.com
