The long, hot summer
I
t will be of no surprise to anyone that this issue is packed with people’s views on the heatwave we’ve had this summer. There is certainly much talk of the recent temperatures being the new norm for summer in the UK given the accepted trend towards global warming, but while we do seem to be headed in that direction, it’s too early to predict whether that is actually the case.
What is certain is that it has meant an up-turn in business for both air conditioning and refrigeration companies, which is much needed in some quarters.
Entries are already flying in from manufacturers and contractors alike for the ACR News Awards, which is great news not just for the event, but also the industry at large – it’s an indicator that people and businesses are feeling confident across the board.
There are still, as there always will be, challenges ahead with F-Gas, Brexit et al, but we’ve cause to be optimistic and that’s the best way to be.
