Heat pump bodies complete merger to form HPA UK

T

hree of the UK’s key heat pump organisations have formally merged to create a

single trade body, the Heat Pump Association UK (HPA UK). The Heat Pump Association (HPA), Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) and Heat Pump Federation (HPF) have now consolidated under one banner, launching a new identity and interim website as the fi rst step in a phased rollout. The merger follows member

approval across all three organisations and establishes a unifi ed representative body for the full breadth of the heat pump sector.

HPA UK will cover domestic and commercial applications, industrial heat, ground source systems and heat networks.

An interim website is now live at

www.hpauk.org.uk, with a full site and expanded member services scheduled for release in Q2 2026. Charlotte Lee, Chief Executive of

HPA UK, said the move strengthens the sector’s ability to coordinate and engage: “Bringing these organisations together is a big, positive step forward for our industry. It means we can speak with one clear voice and work more eff ectively to grow the heat pump

sector. Our focus is on bringing together each part of the supply chain to enable heat pumps to play a pivotal role in the UK’s energy transition.” According to the new

organisation, the merger will enable: ■ More consistent representation to government and industry stakeholders

■ Clearer communication on the role of heat pumps in decarbonising heat

■ Streamlined governance and improved member services

■ A single point of contact for collaboration across the sector.

The consolidation is also positioned as a platform for wider economic benefi ts, including opportunities for domestic manufacturing, skills and technology development.
