aunched in 1993, the Innovative Electrical Retailing Awards will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2017. Taking place at the five-star Chelsea Harbour Hotel in London, on Thursday March 30 2017, the Awards are set to be an outstanding evening of glitz and glamour. The Awards are designed to recognise
achievements in the electrical retailing sector, ranging from the best technical innovation for consumer electronics to best independent retailers of large domestic appliances. Special projects and events manager Linda
Dorling comments: “Next year’s IER Awards will be particularly special as we celebrate 25 years of recognising excellence in the sector. Over the years the event has evolved and we are delighted to be marking the anniversary with a symbolic 25 awards.” Suppliers and manufacturers will be
able to enter into 13 categories including: Technical Innovation Award (Consumer Electronics; Major Domestic Appliances and Small Domestic Appliances); Best Training Award (Consumer Electronics, Major Domestic Appliances, Small Domestic Appliances); Best Accessory Award (Consumer Electronics; Domestic Appliances); Best Floorcare Award; Best Industry Trainer/Training Award; Best UHD TV Award; Best Company Representative Award and Best Distributor Award (New!). Retailers have the opportunity to shout about their achievements in 10 categories including: Best Large Independent Retailer (Consumer Electronics); Best Small Independent Retailer (Consumer Electronics); Best Large Independent Retailer (Domestic Appliances); Best Small Independent Retailer (Domestic Appliances); Best Customer Service Award; Best Independent Kitchen Retailer Showroom Award (New!); Best Independent Retailer Superstore Showroom Award; Best Independent Retailer Website Award; Best Regional Multiple Retailer Award; Best IER Retailer Award and Best Young Gun Award (New!).

Best Independent Kitchen Retailer Showroom Award This new award will go to the best small or medium-sized independent retailer who has

demonstrated skill and invention to deliver an exceptional in-store experience for customers. Entries are required to demonstrate: innovative or unusual ideas, quality of execution and success of displays.
Best Young Gun Award This will be awarded to a newcomer to the electrical retailing industry (within the last five years) who consistently demonstrates a willingness to learn and develop, and an enthusiasm for the industry and their own professional development. Entries should demonstrate the candidate’s energy and ideas, desire to take part in training and make sales, and dedication to delivering an exceptional customer experience in-store.

November to assess every entry submitted for the Awards. A shortlist will then be drawn up for the event.

The awards are the highest acclaimed celebration of excellence in the electrical retailing industry, and the evening is an impressive tribute to the people and companies operating within this marketplace.
