Micro Nano MEMS
Register now for Micro Nano MEMS 2016
Now in its eighth year and firmly established as the UK's leading event for small and ultra-precision technology, the Micro Nano MEMS exhibition returns to the NEC, Birmingham on 28th & 29th September 2016
O
rganiser Datateam Business Media is delighted to announce yet another exciting array of exhibitors, together with a world leading seminar programme designed to provide design engineers with the information and knowledge required to optimise opportunities in this fast developing field. Exhibitors including Accumold, Celoplás S.A., Laser Lines, Laser Micromachining, Optimax, Oxford Lasers, Physik Instrumente and more, will showcase the latest technologies at the event this September. These will cover the full spectrum of micro, precision, MEMS and nano manufacturing solutions, including micro moulding, electroforming, photonics and precision stamping to name just a few.
Commenting on Oxford Laser’s continued support for the show, marketing manager Carla Taylor says: “The Micro Nano MEMS exhibition has proved to be a good platform to showcase our very latest advancements in high precision laser micromachining to a large audience across multiple industries with a micro and nano manufacturing requirement.” Sales director, Dr. Alan Ferguson, continues: “As the global trend towards miniaturisation of features and components continues, Oxford Lasers knowledge and experience in the design and use of short pulse and ultra-short pulse laser systems (nano, pico and femtosecond pulses) provide the ability to ablate material without debris, burr or heat affected zones, creating extremely
precise features which are critical in components of this scale. “Oxford Lasers offers both laser
micromachining systems and sub contract micromachining services, which enables us to provide a solution whether the requirement is for a one-off proof of concept or full volume parts manufacture. “This year, we will have an exhibition stand where visitors can meet with our laser technology specialists to discuss technical requirements and evaluate application feasibility, as well as seeing demonstrations of our systems and services.”
Physik Instrumente (PI), a leading
provider of precision motion and positioning systems is also returning to the show. Commenting on what visitors can expect to see from PI at the show, marketing manager Richard Moss says: “We will have on display a large breadth of nano and micro positioning solutions, including our Air bearing friction free motion solutions which will be at the event for the first time.” With 25 years experience in injection moulding and the development of tools, Celoplás has reached a very competitive position in the global market, namely within the automotive, electrical, electronic, construction and medical sectors. Celoplás will be at the exhibition to present its micro injection moulding and tools manufacturing capabilities to visitors.
Commenting on the company’s
product range and reasons for exhibiting at the show, technical manager, Marcos
Sampaio says: “Celoplás is an important partner for the development and production of several µ-injection moulded parts as well as complex µ- molding tool inserts. “We consider Micro Nano MEMS to be a reference showcase in Europe for companies operating in this activity sector.”
Global speakers confirmed for seminar programme The Micro Nano MEMS CPD accredited seminar programme is characterised by high quality presentations from key industry experts from across the globe. Some of the presentations already confirmed include: Technical challenges of MEMS manufacturing, by DRIE technology/Plasma-Therm LLC; Laser micro-processing: Powering research and industry, by Scitech Precision; Precision actuation with a focus on piezo technologies, by PI; Silicon nano-sensor and printed electronics integration in future lab-ona-chip biosensing for early heart disease; diagnosis, by Yale School of Medicine; Nanofabrication of next generation products, by Kelvin Nanotechnology and Device development of micro and nanostructures on paper substrates, by Durham University. Oxford Instruments’ Carla Taylor says:

“We are also very excited to be presenting two talks in the seminar theatre this year. On Wednesday 28th September Dr Alan Ferguson will be presenting a talk titled: ‘Recent Advances in High Precision Laser Micromachining’. On Thursday 29th September Celine Bansal is the speaker delivering a talk titled ‘Ultrafast High Precision Laser Micromachining’.” Commenting on PI’s involvement in the seminar programme, UK marketing
manager Richard Moss says: “At this year’s Micro Nano MEMS, we have been invited to have one of our global Piezo experts to come over from head office in Germany to speak on how PI harness the Piezo effect and translate that energy into precision motion drives and share with you which applications typically benefit from this technology.”
Neil Mead, managing editor of the Industrial Division at Datateam Business Media comments: “Micro Nano MEMS is the only event of its kind in the UK and therefore the only opportunity buyers, specifiers, engineers and technicians have to compare products side-by-side and listen to high level speakers on topics that affect their working day. As such, it attracts global companies and speakers to the event and with it, increasing numbers of visitors.”
Exhibition sales manager, Jacqui Henderson continues: “Exhibiting at Micro Nano MEMS enables companies to connect with key decision makers in the UK and abroad. While space is now at a premium, we do have a limited number of stands available in very favourable positions, but I would recommend getting in touch as soon as possible and they won’t be there for long!” Micro Nano MEMS is co-located at the NEC, Birmingham with Sensors & Instrumentation, TCT Live + Personalise and the PPMA Total Show, making it one of the biggest must-attend industrial events of the year. Register for free entry to Micro Nano MEMS and use the same ticket to access the other three shows. Visitors who stay after 3pm will also enjoy free parking.
