SHOE AID Shoe Aid and Padders Partnership P

adders recent partnership with Shoe Aid aims to increase the numbers of shoes to be sent worldwide for those who need footwear most.

Padders are introducing in-store shoe bins to help encourage even more shoe donations from members of the public.

Padders have the concept of comfort so well sewn up that feelgoodfeet

is Padders’ very own trademark. We've gone right back to the basics to work out how shoes can be made lighter, more comfortably supportive and durable.

www.padders.co.uk Celebrating over 100 years in footwear, T Groocock & Co have returned to

the roots and are manufacturing a new range of Padders footwear at their workshops in Northamptonshire ensuring quality remains at the very heart of the British footwear industry!

On July 30th 2016 l will be setting off from Skegness on the East coast and I will be walking, barefoot, through Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Manchester and finishing in Liverpool, on the West coast.

This 159 mile walk, will take in some highs and lows across all kinds of

terrain, but as the founder of Shoe Aid, l believe that it is up to me to bring more awareness to the statistics in world shoe poverty. There are 300 million children without shoes around the world, some 70 million children can't get educated because they need shoes as part of the school uniform, in addition to this there are 30,000 deaths per year due to foot infections.

The reason this journey will be taken completely barefoot is to highlight

how millions of people don't have any other choice but to walk barefoot every day.

On average, I will be walking between 18 and 22 miles each day. Several

celebrities will be joining me on the walk; Ashley Griffith, from reality TV, The Rise & Fall of the Krays actor Kevin Leslie and Coronation Street actress Claire King will be meeting me in Manchester.

If you want to join me on my East to West coast barefoot walk challenge here’s where I’ll be;

• On July 30th walk 7hrs from Skegness to Horncastle from 10am to reach Horncastle for 5pm

• July 31st set off from Horncastle at 9am again 7hrs walking to reach Lincoln for 5pm

• August 1st leave Lincoln at 9am again 7hrs walking reach Retford for 5pm

• August 2nd leave Retford at 9am 9hrs walking to Sheffield reach Sheffield 6pm• August 3rd leave Sheffield at 9am walk 9hrs reach Glossop at 6pm

• August 4th leave Glossop at 9am walk 9hrs reach Irlam at 6pm this includes just over 1hr in Manchester city centre for interviews

• August 5th leave Irlam 9am with 10 hrs walking reach Liverpool 7pm

We already have sponsors on board but would like more sponsors & supporters who in return would get huge media coverage as well as supporting Shoe Aid check out www.shoeaid.co.uk/easttowest.html for more info.

Just imagine the misery of living without shoes for just one day. One pair of shoes could save a life.

I hope, like in the film Forrest Gump, people will be inspired to join me along the way. The Shoe Aid Team will be encouraging people along the route to donate their unwanted shoes. In order to prepare myself for this challenging ordeal, I have been training at a local gym, Village gyms have supported me by providing 3 month’s free membership. I have also been soaking my feet in urine to harden the skin l have started to walking barefoot everywhere.
