Why I Buy Cheryl T aylor , Editor ,talks to Steve Whiteof White & Sons Shoes,Sidmouth, Devon.

How did you find out about the brand, where and when? Having bought a pair I visited a shop in the Cotswolds and was amazed at the wide age range of customers who bought Dudes. That was the biggest surprise which has been replicated in our shop. The age range of Dude customers is staggering.

Which features of the brand do you like best and why? The first thing that impressed me on trying a pair was the comfort and light weight. The range of colours and funky patterns cover all tastes and age groups.

Which styles have worked best for you? Mens Farty and ladies Moka have worked best but with recent new styles introduced that may change. Price has not ever been a problem, getting them on customers feet is the key, then they just sell themselves.

Have you recommended the brand to other retailers? Most definitely, I always suggest wearing a pair then you will know why you should and will sell them

Please tell about the service you receive from the manufacturer? A great company to deal with, nothing is too much trouble. Like dealing with friends who care about my customers and business. Never had anything but 1st class service.

Kindly tell us about your shop, its location and your customers? White & Son Shoes @ Sidmouth, a traditional shoe shop selling ladies & men’s. We stock major brands where quality and fit are the overriding factor rather than price driven. Our customer base is largely affluent and older but with the introduction of younger brands such as Dudes we are seeing a wider age span of customers.

What made you decide to buy this brand? I bought my first pair of Dudes from a friend’s shop, it was the comfort, fit and style that caught my attention. Visiting the Dude stand at Moda gave me the opportunity to see the whole range. One of my better ideas to sell Dudes, though the downside is I personally have too many styles and colours in my wardrobe now.
