Dynamic Pressure Sensors from PCB® P
Lenze introduces a
he new Safety Controller c250-S from Lenze enables machine drive, control and safety technology to be brought together. The integration of the functional safety into the automation system so that programming requires just one engineering tool based on PLCopen, makes the system design easier and reduces the number of interfaces/components. This saves time and money, and ultimately it also increases the machine’s availability and flexibility.

The c250-S controller comprises a Safety Controller, Safety Bus Coupler and Safety I/O Module. Standard control messages and safety messages are transmitted over EtherCAT with full PLCopen compatibility. This emphasis on easiness is also reflected in a significantly reduction in cabling. Projects can be implemented faster because there are no longer any differences in the software tools for drive technology and safety.

CB®’s piezoelectric pressure sensors are ideal for measuring dynamic pressure changes being able to detect the smallest of pressure fluctuations even in the presence of high static pressures. Perfect for transient measurements due to their high frequency responses and fast rise times, applications include detection of pressure fluctuations in pipelines and cavitation from ship propellers as well as air blast and underwater explosion measurements, explosives research and structural loading, shock tube or closed bomb testing. The most cost-effective range available for fast delivery is the high frequency 113 series with pressure measurement capabilities ranging 50psi to 15,000psi. and sensitivity from 0.5 up to 100mV/psi. For applications in fracking, PCB® offers a range of intrinsically safe pressure sensors compatible with the long cables typically encountered in such environments.

he new FSC-1114 fuse blown indicating module, designed to distribute a supply voltage, is a DIN rail mounting module, that has 10 common indicating fuse blown outputs. Each fused channel can handle up to 7.5A, with a maximum of 40A max for the module. In the event of a fuse being blown a relay is energized and the volt free contacts can be used to signal the problem to the SCADA system or raise a local alarm. The Daito blown fuse gives an indication that it is open circuit, individual Channel fuses purchased separately can be 1A, 1.6A, 2A, 3.2A, 5A or 7.5A. The module can be purchased for use with 110Vac or 12, 24, 48, 110 and 120Vdc power distribution The FSC1114 joins a range of other Colter Products SCADA friendly products signaling fuse status. Visit our website to view our power distribution and relay products. The Supervisory system allows maintenance engineers to be quickly informed of the problem and the location when using the FSC1114.

lready one of the most cost-effective on the market, the range of RFID from ifm electronic is increasing in more ways than one. With the addition of the new range extenders E80390 and E80391 the antenna read distance has doubled.
Using, for example, an ANT421
13.56 MHz antenna the read range for this M18-housed device is 70mm, but using the E80390 antenna amplifier the same device can read the tag at 140mm. The patented antenna amplifiers are designed to fit either the M18 antennae, or ifm’s new 13.56 MHz antennae constructed in a very compact housing that is only 7mm thick. Up to four antennae are connected to the DTE-series gateway range. The DTE is a field-mount RFID evaluation unit with integrated connectivity for SAP / ERP as well as PLC’s. Five versions of the DTE offer standard bus interfaces for this integration, with easy set-up using the built-in web server. To make it even easier, ifm’s embedded firmware, Linerecorder Agent, greatly simplifies connection to common database systems.

ydra-Cell pumps are finding favour in filter press applications for both chamber feeding at high pressure and for fuelling the cloth washing operation. Now, with the addition of the Q Series high horsepower quintuplex pumps, the Hydra- Cell range covers virtually all flow requirements for this application. In the cold pressing of oils for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics manufacture, the filtered oil must be clear and polished with no air entrainment. Hydra-Cell pumps meet the pressure and flow requirements and exhibit their ‘gentle’ nature by not heating, damaging or clouding the oil. Again, the solids being removed from the oils that can cause wear and leaks in pumps with dynamic seals have no detrimental effect on seal- less hydra-Cell pumps. Hydra-Cell’s multiple diaphragms within a single pump head guarantee the virtually pulse free oil delivery required by the filter press application.

Balluff is the Heartbeat of Industry 4.0
he basis of Industry 4.0 is the availability of all relevant information in real time as well as the ability to at all times derive the optimal value creation flow from the data. This can only succeed if all the entries involved are networked together. Balluff sensors and identification systems collect the relevant data and ensure seamless communications with higher level systems such as controllers or clouds.
T
Balluff with its products and solutions is a core and pacesetter of Industry 4.0 development and implementation. A key interface for intelligent communication for Industry 4.0 is IO-Link, the new fieldbus-neutral communication standard whose development Balluff has been continuously driving and promoting for years. It is as easy to use as a USB with a computer. It simplifies the installation of a system, saves costs and for the first time enables intelligent diagnostics and parameterizing concepts all the way to the fieldbus level. Experts consider it as an enabling technology for Industry 4.0.
