BM is pleased to announce the launch of its new dedicated production and logistics facility, which is based at its Darmstadt headquarters, in Germany. Due for completion at the end of 2017, the transparent design of the new production and logistics centre has been carefully selected to reflect the key core values of HBM; precision, innovation and reliability. To mark the opening of the new facility, a HBM time capsule was buried at a traditional foundation stone laying ceremony, which was attended by local dignitaries, HBM employees and executive leadership. Containing a HBM load cell, daily newspaper and a HBM company brochure, the capsule was lowered into the ground by the Mayor of Darmstadt, Jochen Partsch, to celebrate the launch of the building.Emphasising its commitment towards its headquarters in Darmstadt and setting the course for future growth, Karl-Heinz Pohlmann, Vice President Supply Chain at HBM explains its reasons behind the new investment

High-Sensitivity for Ground Vibration Applications P

CB Piezotronics, a world leader in vibration, acoustic, pressure, force and torque sensors, offers ICP® high-sensitivity seismic accelerometers for ground vibration measurements. The accelerometers enable detection of ultra- low level, low frequency vibrations associated with large civil engineering structures, foundations and earth tremors. Such is their sensitivity that the accelerometers can literally detect a dropped pin. A typical example of PCB Piezotronics’ range of seismic accelerometers is model 393B31 which operates down to 0.07Hz with a sensitivity of 10V/g.

This performance makes it ideal for use in a wide variety of civil engineering applications including bridge movement detection, remote pipeline intrusion detection, military establishment intruder detection and rail movement detection – monitoring the effects of train movement on nearby buildings and structures.

K Elektronik (SKE) has appointed Quantitech as its exclusive UK distributor. SKE is a leading global provider of gas analysers based on the principle of Flame Ionisation Detection (FID).

Key applications include emissions

monitoring, process gas monitoring, and the monitoring of abatement efficiency and emissions from wastewater treatment.

Quantitech MD Ken Roberts says: “We are delighted to be working with SKE; firstly, SKE enjoys an excellent reputation for quality and reliability, secondly the core FID technology is

available in a number of formats to suit a wide variety of applications, and thirdly these instruments have performance certification - MCERTS for all versions and ATEX for certain models.” In addition to stand-alone TOC analysers, Quantitech will also offer the SKE FID technology as part of its integrated continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS).

Walk-in shelters for analyzers and large-scale applications

Introducing the latest generation of Calorimetric sens- ing/switching; LABO.

is unparalleled in its flexibility. Shelters of almost unlimited size and shape can be designed and produced using high-integrity single-piece composite-GRP walls - supported by system building services. The manufacturing process is ideal for demanding specifications and challenging environmental conditions, as composite-GRP materials may be varied for individual applications - such as by varying the thickness of insulation cores, or making the walls fire and blast resistant. characteristics can greatly reduce process design and lifecycle costs. Among the challenges that can be met are shelters for extremely cold or hot climates,

shelters for offshore,

lightweight and corrosion-resistant custom skid-mounted

packages, and shelters for remote locations without power.
