TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION ADVERTORIAL
Balluff is the Heartbeat of Industry 4.0
he basis of Industry 4.0 is the availability of all relevant information in real time as well as the ability to at all times derive the optimal value creation flow from the data. This can only succeed if all the entities involved are networked together. Balluff sensors and identification systems collect the relevant data and ensure seamless communication with higher-level systems such as controllers or clouds. Balluff with its products and solutions is a core and pacesetter of Industry 4.0 development andimplementation. A key interface for intelligent communication for Industry 4.0 is IO-Link, the new fieldbus-neutral communication standard whose development Balluff has been consistently driving and promoting for years. It is as easy to use as USB with a computer, simplifies the installation of a system, saves costs and for the first time enables intelligent diagnostics and parameterizing concepts all the way to the fieldbus level. Experts consider it as an enabling technology for Industry 4.0.

New Rotary 8mm D shaft Sensor Variohm EuroSensor has increased the range of their proven Euro-XP non-contacting
angle sensors, with a new 8 mm diameter D-shaft drive option, which is available with a choice of 32 or 38 mm PCD mounting. The D-shaft with its integral magnet makes for easier installation, without the need for a separate coupling. With the optimal magnet to sensing-element gap maintained within the assembly, and a choice of mounting diameters, form-fit interchangeability with competitive models is made easy.
The new D-shaft sensor joins the Euro XP family with completely contactless technology with a long-life specification in excess of 50 million movements. The fully encapsulated sensor element ensures complete environmental protection – rated to IP68, and high protection against shock and vibration - making it a conditions.

englor Presents New Fluid Sensors for Flow Rate and Temperature weFlux² from wenglor is the new generation of high-performance, compact Fluid Sensors which unites electronics and analysis module in a single housing. A patented measuring method determines the flow velocities as well as the temperatures of liquid media – regardless of position and direction of flow. The combination of two measuring functions in a single sensor reduces the number of measuring points in closed systems by 50% and minimizes installation, service and inventory costs. wenglor’s new sensors are based on a patented measuring method in accordance with the calorimetric principle. Thermal differences are measured in flowing media and are converted
to physical quantities such as flow velocity and temperature. The measurement results of most common sensors provide just one value – not so with the new weFlux² generation which measures flow velocity and temperature simultaneously with a single sensor, regardless of the medium’s direction of flow.

Wireless pressure sensor transmitters and receivers from Cynergy3
ynergy3 Components Ltd – have further expanded their range of industrial pressure sensors by developing the IWPT series of wireless pressure transmitters and receivers.
C The easy to set-up, DIL
switch paired devices can save significant installation costs in remote or difficult to access locations and plants. With an active range of up to 750m (line-of-sight) and a battery life in excess of 5 years, each pressure transducer sends data at a user-selectable update rate to either a single or 5-channel receiver. The receiver then produces either 4-20mA or 1-5Vdc analogue outputs of the measured pressure ranges. The transmitters are available in a wide variety of ranges from 0- 50mbar to 0-400barG. Each transducer is manufactured in the UK from stainless steel and utilises piezo-resistive sensors and are accurate to +/-0.25%/FS.
