The lowdown on L&D

This year’s World of Learning is set to be highly interactive and engaging, as L&D innovators, practitioners and thought-leaders come together to share their expertise and insights.

How to ‘motivate’ your team will be a key subject in the conference, as Matthew Syed explains the key to driving learner motivation. There will also be an opportunity to hear from Frank Meehan on how a changing world and evolving needs has an impact on the future of learning. To see the full conference programme turn to pages 32 and 33.

A host of free sessions and interactive zones offer event visitors a multitude of platforms to facilitate discussion and learning. Among them are the extremely popular Learning Design Live, Fringe Seminars, Technology Test Drive and the Experiential Learning Zone.

In the annual World of Learning survey, nearly two thirds of L&D professionals

revealed their company is not prepared for the upcoming apprenticeship levy. This year, World of Learning will host an Apprenticeship Zone, with a free seminar

programme covering everything employers need to know about the apprenticeship levy. There will be expert apprenticeship providers and trainers offering further advice and insights on how to ensure your company is prepared by April 2017.

Take advantage of over 40 free seminars, with advice covering everything from VR to eLearning and leadership agility to gamification. Find out more about the

free seminars on pages 36 and 37. You will also have the opportunity to uncover the latest L&D solutions for your company from over 100 prominent suppliers.

Finally, keep a look out for the colouring wall, Norris the robot and the full-scale climbing wall. With all this and more I hope you make the most of this year’s event and leave feeling motivated and inspired!
