NEWSfrom MHC’S INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS
Member News As many of our readers are aware, a few years ago,
the Rippeon family rebranded their three separate businesses (Gaithersburg Equipment, Frederick Equipment and Westminster Equipment Companies) under the single umbrella of Rippeon Equipment Company. But they are not done! This MHC lifetime Industry Professional member continues to grow with the acquisition of Security Equipment Compa- ny, located in the heavy industrial area of Halethor- pe. As a Kubota and New Holland dealer, the 30 year old Security Equipment was a natural fi t, giving the Rippeon family its fi rst Baltimore County location as well as a stronger presence in the construction industries.

MHC member and sponsor Paradise Solar Energy welcomes two new members to its Central Maryland team: Gabriel Shabtai will be the new foreman and Fritz Sejuste is a new installer.
Our long-time member and MHC sponsor Carolyn Mackintosh has a lot going on at her Loch Moy Farm. She announced that the Maryland International (held every July) will become a 501(c)(3) non-profi t ded- icated to expanding eventing competition and eventing educational opportunities for minorities, amateurs, and underserved groups. She has added two new dressage shows to Loch Moy’s competition calen- dar. And the property is under renovation to expand the available sta- bling to 64 stalls, to upgrade the existing infrastructure and spectator facilities, and to expand the cross-country course in preparation for the CCI 4* coming in 2023. Lastly, Loch Moy is also providing a gracious member benefi t for MHC members – each Industry Professional member and each individual member can choose to receive two free cross-country schooling pass- es or two trail riding passes. Members may contact Carolyn Mackintosh at 301-514-0111 (accepts texts).

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS Although new to MHC, Stablemates, Inc. is hardly new to the Mary-
land equestrian community. Founded in 1965 by Gloria Savage, this Mt. Airy tack store is still family owned and operated, with son Mike Reid at the helm and grandson Ryan Reid working his IT magic in the back- ground. Stablemates has been a loyal Equiery advertiser for 30 years.
racing industry since she was a child, getting her start as a hot walker for her father, Luigi Gino.
Since then, she has worked as a pa-
ri-mutuel teller, a jockey’s agent, a trainer, a breeder, and a television analyst for the Mary- land Jockey Club. Robb produced daily stakes race coverage (including the Preakness) for Comcast Sports, which included script writ- ing, voice-overs, interviews, and in-studio production. She still provides on-camera
analysis for the Maryland State Fair. In 2007, she launched her Thoroughbred breeding and racing opera-
tion, No Guts No Glory Stable and Farm in Woodbine. She is commit- ted to breeding to Maryland-bred sires and to promoting Maryland-bred Thoroughbreds as sport horses for non-racing competition careers. If you really want to get to know Robb, check out the October issue
of Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred (published by MHC member Maryland Horse Breeders Association). That is her horse on the cover, Anna’s Bandit, and inside you will learn everything you need to know about Robb in “Closing Act: Maryland Million Heroine Anna’s Bandit earns big sendoff ,” penned by the incomparable Vinnie Perrone. It’s one of those articles that gives you goose bumps, and you’ll come away feeling the you’ve known Robb and her husband Jerry for years! (That’s Anna’s Bandit featured in the photo with Gina.)
