It’s a name that’s in sync with what’s happen- ing in the health-care industry more broadly and reflects the important role we play as the catalyst for funding health-care infrastructure,” said CEO Tom DeRosa in a letter to employees. Welltower’s common and preferred stock will continue to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “HCN.”


Maplewood Senior Living,


based in Westport, Connecticut, has announced plans to develop a luxury senior living residence on Manhat- tan’s Upper East Side. Five lots were purchased by two subsidiaries of the Omega Healthcare Investors Inc. REIT. The development plan is to raze the buildings to build a single tower with 20 stories and 214 units. The total project cost will be $246 million, inclusive of the land acquisition price.
