Project partners MorningStar Senior Liv- ing, Confluent Senior Living, and Concord Development Partners have completed a 166,000-square-foot senior living communi- ty in Mission Viejo, Calif. The community, MorningStar of Mission Viejo, offering 132 licensed senior living units is now accept- ing new resident applicants. As this region within Orange County has been historically underserved for senior housing care, the new MorningStar community will meet the needs of those seeking independent living, assisted living, and memory support. MorningStar of Mission Viejo broke ground in March 2021. The project was successfully complet- ed ahead of schedule amid an environment of uncertainty in delivery across the senior housing market. The community will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom suites as well as 126 below-grade parking spaces. To fur- ther promote the Whole Health Standard and encourage time enjoyed outdoors, the property features 13,809 square feet of out- door space including a pool, dog run, resi- dent garden, and al fresco dining. Morning- Star also offers a fitness and wellness center. As personal health dictates, assisted living residents will be offered personalized support with the activities of daily living through 24- hour staffing and full-time licensed nurses.

Senior living trade asso- ciation Argentum said it has expanded the role of human resources’ (HR) head Olivia Wilson to in- clude leading the group’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity,


Inclusion, and Belonging) efforts, promoting Wilson at a time the senior living sector is moving forward with building a strong DEIB culture. Wilson will now be Argen- tum’s senior director of DEIB. Argentum President and CEO James Balda said in her seven years with the organization, Wilson

Nick Katinos has been named executive director for Grace Point Place, an Anthem Memory Care community in Oak Lawn, Ill. In this capaci- ty, he will oversee all


care, operations, and programming. Kati- nos previously was executive director of Sunrise of Naperville North in Naperville, Ill. He also served as executive director for Brighton Gardens of Wheaton in Wheaton, Ill. He brings more than seven years of se- nior living experience to this position.


LAURA LOPEZ


Laura Lopez has been named community rela- tions director for The Hampton, an Anthem Memory Care communi- ty in Tumwater, Wash. In this position, she will


be responsible for community outreach and marketing. Lopez previously was a hospice liaison for Bristol Hospice Thurston in Lac- ey, Wash. She was also marketing director and admissions coordinator for Roo-Lan Health and Rehab in Olympia, Wash. She brings more than five years of healthcare marketing experience to this position.


Elegance Living has promoted Lisa Gaudioso to the role of CEO. She succeeds former CEO Joshua Krull, who left the company this month to lead Artis Senior Living. In addition to naming a new CEO, Balti- more-based Elegance Living announced multiple other promotions, including: Anthony Stablien to the role of president, Jennifer Lauer to vice president of people, and Kaitlin Cavinder to vice president of fi- nancial planning and analysis.


Atlanta-based senior living provider Jewish HomeLife Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey A. Gopen was appointed president and CEO following the retirement of longtime CEO Harley Tabak, who will become CEO emeritus.


TRISHA THOMAS


Trisha Thomas, RN, has been named executive di- rector for Chelsea Place, an Anthem Memory Care community in Aurora, Colo. In this capacity, she will oversee all daily care,


programming and operations. Thomas previ- ously was executive director with Brookdale Westland Meridian in Lakewood, Colo. She also served as executive director for Pinehurst Park Memory Care in Denver. Thomas brings more than 20 years of senior living and 15 years of nursing experience to this position.


Frontier Management LLC in Portland, Ore., said it has promoted four of its staff to executive-level positions. Peter Chen was promoted to chief financial officer (CFO). Matthew Dunham was promoted to chief administrative officer. Dunham will contin- ue to lead Frontier’s legal, risk management, and human resources divisions. Kandice Alcorn, RN, was promoted to chief clinical and operating officer. Alcorn will continue to lead Frontier’s compliance, licensing, pol- icy, and clinical programs and will also serve the company’s operational leaders. Kathy Swann was promoted to chief marketing and revenue officer.


Sienna Senior Living said Karen Hon, senior vice president and CFO, has left the Ontar- io, Canada-based company to pursue other leadership opportunities. As a result, Sien- na named David Hung as new CFO and executive vice president. Hung has been a member of the Sienna leadership team for close to seven years, having led multiple areas within the finance and corporate ser- vices function.


Carroll Lutheran Village said Scott Edens is its new executive director. With more than 30 years of diverse senior living experience, Edens has planned and coordinated renova- tion projects for two health care campuses, led three regions of 28 skilled nursing facili- ties, planned and directed an improvement process to increase admissions at four health- care centers, trained supervisory personnel at 24 nursing centers, started and developed a sub-acute rehabilitation unit at a health care facility, and managed a 238-unit CCRC.
